Abstract

We observed the effect of inopolysaccharide of Spirulina maxima(IPS)on the growth and apoptosis of SMMC7721,A549,HeLa,U251 tumor cell lines. In vitro, human tumor cells were cultured in IPSⅠand IPSⅡwith concentrations of 80 mg/L and 5 mg/L,the result of which was determined by MTT,SRB cell morphology, annexin Ⅴ apoptosis assay and DNA fragmentation.IPSⅠ(80 mg/L)displayed strong growth inhibitory effects on SMMC7721,A549,HeLa,U251human cancer cell lines with 64.97%,46.1%,43.3%,27.02% of inhibition rate,respectively.IPSⅡ(5 mg/L) inducing the apoptosis of SMMC7721.IPS can significantly restrain the growth of human tumor cell lines and induce apoptosis.
