Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of excess retinoic acid (RA) on the expressions of RARα and RARβ in neural tube of golden hamsters. Methods: Through immunohistochemistry and image analysis methods, the difference of expressions of RARα and RARβ between normal and defected neural tube induced by excess RA was analyzed in golden hamsters. Results: Excess RA made the expressions of RARα and RARβ decline firstly, then increase significantly in neural tube of golden hamster. Conclusion: The expressions of RARα and RARβ induced by excess RA are related to the neural tube defects in golden hamster .
