Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical features and diagnosis of adrenal tumors. Methods Data from 272 cases with adrenal tumors were reviewed. Results Of 272 cases of adrenal tumors, 185 had complete clinical and laboratory data. Functional tumors were diagnosed in 137 cases including 64 cases with primary aldosteronism, 31 with Cushing syndrome and 42 with pheochromocytoma. Of the functional adrenal tumors,10 cases were malignant. There were 8 functional adrenal tumors(7 pheochromocytomas and 1 primary aldosteronism). Conclusion The hormone levels should be determined both in the symptomatic and asymptomatic patients with adrenal tumors. Ultrasonography and CT scanning are helpful for the localization of the tumor, whereas the prevalence of incidentaloma in China is not low and attention should be paid to.
