Abstract
AIM: To compare the efficiency of domestic and imported terbinafine cream in the treatment of dermatomycosis. METHODS: One hundred and six patients with dermatomycosis were randomly divided into domestic terbinafine group (66 patients, M 43,F 23, age 42 a± s 11 a) received domestic terbinafine cream, and imported terbinafine group (40 patients, M 24, F 16, age 39 a±12 a) received imported terbinafine cream. Both of the two groups were administered topically with terbinafine cream twice per day for 1 wk (for tinea corporis, tinea cruris or tinea versicolor) and for 2 wk (for tinea manuum, tinea pedis or cutaneous candidiasis). The therapeutic effects were evaluated 2 wk after the end of the treatment. RESULTS: In domestic group, the effective rate and the clearance of fungi were 97 % and 94 %, respectively. In imported group, they were 98 % and 92 %, respectively. There were no significant differences between two groups ( P 0.05), and no obvious adverse reactions were found. CONCLUSION: The efficiency and safety of domestic and imported terbinafine cream in the treatment of dermatomycosis is similar.
