Research and realization of metadata base for geospatial information of water resources based on object-oriented method

In this paper,the characteristic and framework of geospatial metadata are discussed,and shortcomings of existing organization and management modes of metadata are analyzed.Based on the expatiation of core idea of object-oriented,the 'object' hypostases of geospatial metadata are anatomized.Then geospatial metadata is understood and described with the object-oriented idea,its organization and management mode based on the object-oriented method is presented.Finally,a object-oriented metadata base for geospatial information of water resources is designed and realized,which overcomes shortcomings of existing modes.
