Abstract

Diallel crossing analysis of oil content traits of two groups of inbred lines of sunflower showed that there are significant difference between their general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA).The results showed that the GCA and SCA of parental lines both played an important role in the seed oil content of F 1 hybrids, but the effect of GCA on F 1is greater than that of SCA.There is no obvious relationship between GCA and SCA .It was suggested that when the hybrids with high oil content are developed and the inbred lines are improved, we should pay more attention on GCA of candidates as well as SCA.The CMS plants has greater effects on the seed oil content of F 1 hybrids .
