Abstract
Diallel crossing analysis of yield properties of two groups of inbred lines in oil sunflower showed that there are significant difference between their general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA).The results showed that the GCA and SCA of parental lines both played an important role in the yield of F 1 hybrids, but the effect of GCA on F 1 is greater than that of SCA.There is no obvious relationship between GCA and SCA.It is suggested that when the hybrids are developed and the inbred lines are improved,we should pay more attention on GCA of candidates as well as SCA.
