RESEARCH TENDENCY OF OVERSEA INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS

The oversea industrial cluster research has developed into a new stage after it has gone through 3 research phases.A.Marshall did some pilot study on industrial district at the end of 19th century;afterwards G.Becattini made great efforts on new industrial district research at the end of 1970s;then Michael E.Porter formally brought about the concept of industrial cluster in 1990,which nowadays has adopted as a new method by government and enterprise to think about economy,evaluate the regional competitive advantage,and make public policy.Meanwhile the oversea industrial cluster research has primarily formed into four academic schools which includes new industrial district school,regional innovation network school,new economic geography school and strategic administration school.The research tendency indicates that the industrial cluster theory has aroused great attention in developed countries,which results in distinct global cluster domino effect;the favorable development mechanism of industrial cluster also provides powerful competence for its self further progress;industrial cluster has been gradually accepted by more and more countries and regions as a vital regional development model.
