The Communicative Functions of Pragmatic Presupposition

Presupposition is a common phenomenon in language and one of the important topics in pragmatic and philosophy research,playing an important communicative role in language communication.The research on Presupposition has been one of the focuses of linguistic field,and its value is becoming more and more obvious,however,because pragmatics is a new studying field,The research on Presupposition is limited to the semantic level,although the research on its using is just limited to the using of writing language,while barely involving in the using in spoken communication.The research on different functions of pragmatic presupposition in spoken communication is helpful to deeply understand the presupposition and feel functions of pragmatic presupposition in spoken communication.This paper analyzes the basic characters and studies the functions of presupposition in pragmatic level,especially in spoken communication.
