Abstract

Generally,the research of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty,always focuses on his great contributions to the Han(nationality) and his romantic anecdotes.However,while examining his merits and faults,scholars seldom analyze his mental(activities) in working out the succession plan and the concrete ways of implementing it.This paper,in explaining the whole process of how Emperor Wu's changed his successors to the throne one after another,aims to probe into his psychological activities and hereby to discover the fierce contradictions generated in imperial successions in the feudal period as well as the general rules and practices.
