Abstract
Objective: the paper is to contribute to the upcoming revision of land use planning in China through preliminary study of land use planning EIA which will soon become a part of land use planning. Methodology: integrate environmental assessment into land use planning on the basis of comparison and analysis of existing theory and practice of EIA and SEA. Results: the scope, procedure,index and assessment method of land use planning EIA are proposed. Conclusion: further studies and relevant technical regulations are urgently needed.
