Abstract
As a representative of New Music Bureau, Bai Juyi's sentimental poems, namely, the Ballard of Endless Woe and the Lute-Girl' s Lament represent the highest art achievement in his poem writing. The author of the paper discusses Bai Juyi 's perception to the survival environment, human life, would focus and the existence from the aspects of the theme of the Ballard of Endless Woe and the artistic style of the Lute-Girl's Lament. If we can say that Bai Juyi in his the Ballard of Endless Woe signed with emotion at human sadness and happiness from the subject matter, we could also say that the poet artistically entered deeper emotional life experience in his the Lute-Girl's Lament. Meanwhile, the author of this paper thinks that in both of the poems discussed above Bai Juyi was perplexed for the uncertainty of the rise and fall in life and expressed his understanding of the contradiction and bitterness of the life existence.
