Investigation of Health Education Demand of Family Members of Patients Receiving Operation

Objective To investigate the demand of health education of family members of patients receiving operation.Methods Sixty family members of patients who were receiving operation were investigated with selfdesigned questionnaire.The content of the questionnaire included most needed information and the content,method and demand of health education.Results The demand for health education of family members was very strong.The most needed information of family members was that about operation progression and the situation of the patients.The most needed education contents included operation method,outcome and the drugs and expenses.The most acceptable education methods were communication with doctors and nurses and pamphlets.Conclusion It is necessary to carry out health education among family members of patients receiving operation,so that they can have better coping ability and psychological status,which may provide effective supporting system for peri-operation patient and improve their post-operation rehabilitation.
