Survey of demand on health knowledge of members in the families with tuberculosis patients.

Objective To discuss demand of health knowledge of members of patients’ family and improve the status of family support so as to enhance the cure rate and reduce incidence of tuberculosis. Methods Health knowledge level in the members of tuberculosis patients’ family concerning the control of tuberculosis and demand for health knowledge, sterilization, isolated and preventive measures were surveyed and the results were analyzed. Results 93.18% of the members in tuberculosis patients’ family needed tuberculosis knowledge, preventive measures and sterilizing methods; 86.82% of them wanted to know the therapeutic effect and adverse effect of the drugs. 84.09% of them wanted to understand the relationship between cigarette smoking and tuberculosis. 65.91% of them concerned with the results of prognosis and the date rehabilitation. Conclusion Attention be paid to the demand of health knowledge by the members of tuberculosis patients’ family and proper health education be carried out so as to form a sound and comprehensive social and psychological support system for the good of tuberculosis patients and their families.
