Abstract
Objective To explore current status of depressive symptoms among college students and to explore the effects of psychological intervention strategies on depressive symptoms. Methods Stratified random cluster sampling was used to select participants. Beck Depression Inventory was used to screen out 180 students who have depressive symptoms. A 12-weeks psychological intervention was implemented,including face to face interview and group counselling. Results ANOVA analysis found that there were significant time effects and time × intervention effects on the depression score before and after intervention. The depression scores in both intervention group and controlled group decreased after intervention( F = 215. 90,97. 838; P 0. 01). After intervention,depression score were significant lower in intervention group( F = 6. 24,P 0. 01). Conclusion Psychological intervention is concluded as an effective program to improve mental health in college.
