Abstract

Objective:To investigate the value of CT in diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm. Methods:The comparion of CT findings and operation was made in details in 326 cases with trigeminal neuralgia and 446 cases with hemifacial spasm.Results:① On CT there were 26 cases of cholesteatoma,14 cases of acoustic neuroma,8 cases of trigeminal neuromata,6 cases of meningeoma,490 cases of broaden blood vessel(63.47%) and 228 cases without abnomality(29.6%) in cerebellopontine angle;② On operation and pathology, there were 27 cases of cholesteatoma,14 cases of acoustic neuroma,8 cases of trigeminal neuromata,6 cases of meningeoma,696 cases with abnormality vessel oppressing trigeminal and facial nerve root(90.15%) and 21 cases without abnomality seen in cerebellopontine angle. Conclusion:CT is the effective examination in etiological diagnosis. The mass and broaden vessel can be discovered on CT in cerebellopontine angle.
