Abstract

The relation between the steady commutation torque ripple and the rotation speed were revealed, connection among the commutation time, armature current and back EMF was confirmed, effect by PWM modes on a three-phase six-state 120° turn-on BLDC motor was analyzed, and torque ripple compensation control in PWM-ONPWM mode was presented, which can not only entirely eliminate torque ripple resulted from the current emerging in the turn-off phase during non-commutation period, but also compensate torque ripple caused by the commutation current during commutation period. The torque ripple can be effectively reduced using torque ripple compensation control in PWM-ON-PWM mode.
