Abstract

Like many elite intellectuals in modern Chinese history,Yan Fu attached great importance to the enlightening function of education and he is one of the most important figures who enlightened the people in modern Chinese history.The contributions and value of his educational ideas mainly lie in highlighting new knowledge centered round science education,expecting all-round deveveloped citizens and drawing a new blue-print for modern science education.His education ideas provided a lot of enlightenment for later generations.
