Abstract

Objective: To study the best experimental conditions for the back extraction of baicalin alcohol from Radix Scutellariae with orthogonal test. Methods: An orthogonal design was used to observe particle number, solvent ethanol concentration and three factors of extraction time that affects the extraction rate of the baicalin by taking the baicalin content as the index. The determination of the baicalin content in the experiment was conducted through HPLC according to Chinese Pharmacopeia(2005 version). Results: The best experimental conditions for the back extraction of the baicalin alcohol by the orthogonal test were as follows: 20 heads of the Radix Scutellariae powder,60% of the alcohol concentration,2h for the first time of the back extraction,0.5h for the second time of the back extraction. Conclusion: The technology is well-designed,and practical and convenient to use.Under the optimized experimental parameters, the extraction ratio is 9.81%,higher than that of traditional extraction method.
