Abstract

Objective:To observe the efficacy and the side effects of nedaplatin(NDP)combined with gemcitabine(GEM)in treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:The patients with NSCLC were randomized to two groups:the observed group was treated with nedaplatin(NDP 100 mg/m2,iv,d1)plus gemcitabine(GEM 1 000mg/m2,iv,d1,d8,every 3 weeks),and the control group was treated with cisplatin(DDP,80~100mg/m2,iv,d1)plus gemcitabine(GEM 1 000mg/m2,iv,d1,d8,every 3 weeks). Results:All 43 patients were evaluated.24 patients were in the observed group, among them,9 patients were PR,6 patients were SD,9 patients were PD,the RR was 37.5%(9/24).19 patients were in the control group,7 patients were PR,7 patients were SD,5 patients were PD,the RR was 36.3%(7/19).The RR was similar in the two groups(P=0.965).The main side effect was anemia, neutropenia and thrombocytopenia. The rate of vomiting in the control group was higher than in the observed group(P=0.004).The other side effects were similar in the two groups(P0.05).Hospital days were shorter and the costs were higher in the observed group than those in the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion:Nedaplatin combined with GEM has the same response rate as cisplatin combined with GEM in the treatment of advanced NSCLC.The rate of vomiting of NDP is lower than that of DDP and there is significant difference of hospital days and costs between NDP and DDP.It is recommended to choose different regimens according to the conditions of patients.
