Abstract
The total gap in residents' income in Ningxia was estimated using the approaches of and rural weighting method and layering weighted method respectively.The composition of residents' income gap in Ningxia were analyzed in aspects of the effect of income gap between urban and rural residents,income gap among urban residents and income gap among rural residents on the total gap,the presentation of the income gap between urban and rural residents in different districts,gap among urban residents and gap among rural residents.The income gap among urban residents was analyzed in aspects of the gap between different profession,different occupation and different education background.Some suggestions were put forward to promote economic development by reducing the income gap between urban area and rural area and the gap between plain area and mountainous area.
