Abstract
Du Yintang's The Comment on Poetry by People in the Ming Dynasty reviewed poetry of the Ming Dynasty,which involved 253 poets' life and poetry. Due to its rich content,this book has been frequently quoted among the academic circles. Jiang Yin and Xu Guoneng give a high evaluation about it. But by Comparison of texts,It is found that The Comment on Poetry by People in the Ming Dynasty is collected based on Zhu Yizun's A Review of the Poerty of the Ming Dynasty and many other books and that it is not collected from the first hand materials which is contrary to some scholars' belief. The content of the book follows the previous works,having few creative ideas.And there came up with many mistakes in its process of collection,copying and inscription aring. So the value of it should be assessed again.
