Abstract
Although Caotangshiyu,a collection of the Southern Song Dynasty's poems, was very popular in the Ming Dynasty, many poets were still crazy about the poetry of Xin Qi-ji,a famous poet in the Southern Song Dynasty.Compared with the poetry in the Song and Yuan dynasties,Xin's poetry had much more influence on Quanmingci,a collection of the Ming Dynasty's poems.Poets of the Ming Dynasty in return helped popularize Xin's poetry in the following Qing Dynasty. This paper attempts to make a better understanding of the Ming Dynasty's poetry by providing a new angle for the study of its historical values.
