Abstract

Two hundreds of Gansu Alpine Merino were selected from Huangcheng sheep farm in Gansu province were divided into two groups randomly, and the sheeps of trail group were worn sheep overclothes and no any treatment for control group. The wool qualities of all individuals were measured in next spring under the same management and feeding conditions. The results indicated that the average wool staple length of treatment group(7.56 cm)was longer than that of control group(7.27 cm);The difference(0.7 micron) of average fineness of fiber between treatment group with control group is not significant(P0.05);The difference(2.76 cm) of average wool grease and perspiration length between treatment group with control group is very significant(P0.01);The average polluted depth treatment group was shorter(2.46 cm than that of control group and the difference is very significant(P0.01);The average wool grease weight) and perspiration percentage of treatment group were increased 55% and 16.5% than that of control group and the difference is significant(P0.01);The average impurity weight of treatment group was increased 212% than that of control group and the difference is significant(P0.01);The difference of average staple strength between treatment group with control group is not significant(P(0.05).)
