Hierarchy system and evaluation on tourism central places of Yangtze River Delta Area

This article has analyzed the relationship between tourism central place and tourist central city.It has also established the appraisal index system for tourism central place.Using the principal components analysis and cluster analysis,tourism central places of the Yangtze River Delta Area can be divided into the following four levels: the national tourist center,provincial-level tourist center,the tourist center of regional level and the local level tourism center.Meanwhile,Shanghai is at the first level and the tourism comprehensive index reaches 182.365.Hangzhou,Nanjing and Suzhou are at the second level,the comprehensive strength index is respectively 69.582,65.354 and 59.665.Wuxi,Ningbo,Shaoxing,Wenzhou,Changzhou are at the third level,the tourism comprehensive strength index is 49.234,44.257,41.227,25.697 and 22.56 separately.Huzhou,Jiaxing,Zhoushan,Nantong,Yangzhou,Zhenjiang and other cities are at the fourth level.
