Abstract
According to the practical conditions and the design indexes of the Xiaowan project the diversion model test was made in study of the influences of the blasting remains and riverbed remains on the discharge capacity of diversion tunnel, the hydraulic scour capacity of diversion tunnel, the velocity distribution of backflow near the cofferdam foot, and erosion characteristic. Also the viable diversion scheme and the corresponding preventive measures were put forward. The diversion model test predicted some potential technical problems, and provided guidance for the construction of the practical project.
