Abstract
A new general algorithm for automatic generation of finite element mesh within any arbitrarily multi-connected regions is proposed and the automatic local refinement of finite element mesh is successfully realized. This algorithm controls the mesh density in various regions of the problem domain in terms of the implicit spacing function, and improves the quality of mesh by applying Laplacian smoothing technique.
