Abstract
A compatibilizer was synthesized by transesterification, and the compatibility of PC/PBT blending material modified by the compatibilizer was studied, with the mechanical properties, microstructure and solvent resistance property tested and analyzed. Results showed that the maximal value of different mechanical properties was discovered with different content of the compatibilizer. The microphotographs of the material fracture surface showed that the compatibility of PC/PBT was obviously improved by the compatibilizer, and the solvent resistance property of the blends was further improved by the compatibilizer. On the other hand, deficient or excessive content of the compatibilizer was distributed discontinuously on interface,so the effect of the compatibility and properties of the material were decreased.
