Abstract
Based on the MMG model and the hydrodynamic characteristics of SWATH,a mathematical model for simulating the ship manoeuvring motion in horizontal plane and in calm water is established. The simulation method is applied to a SWATH ship to simulate the steady turning test, zigzag test, stopping test and differential test.Based on the simulation results, the ship manoeuvrability is predicted.
