Abstract
Objective: To study the relationship between the plasma homocystine(HCY),high-sensitive-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and carotid artery stenosis in acute cerebral infarction patients. Methods: HCY,hs-CRP lipids from 178 cases of acute cerebral infarction were measured. They were divided into carotid artery stenosis group and non-carotid artery stenosis group by cervical vascular ultrasound, which contained 103 cases(33 cases of mild stenosis,36 cases of moderate stenosis and 34 cases of severe stenosis) and 75 cases respectively.Control group contained 37 cases which were the same period hospitalized patients. There was no significant difference(P0.05) between carotid artery stenosis group and control group in age, sex, history of smoking, body weight, hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia by statistical analysis. Results: The detection rates of carotid artery plaque and carotid artery stenosis were significantly higher than those in the control group(P0.005);HCY and hs-CRP were significantly higher than those in control group in acute cerebral infarction patients with carotid artery stenosis, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05);HCY was related with the severity of carotidstenosis positively(P0.05);hs-CRP levels was correlated with carotid artery severe stenosis(P0.05).Conclusion:Carotid artery stenosis is an important risk factor in acute cerebral infarction;HCY and hs-CRP are an important risk factor in carotid atherosclerosis;also,HCY and hs-CRP levels are important in predicting acute cerebral infarction which with carotid artery stenosis.
