Abstract
The Yi Minority has the most population of all the minorities in the district of Northwest Guizhou Province. They have created,enriched and developed flowery folk music culture in a long history.Because of the influences of the infiltration of Western Christian music culture and the elements of the development in the western region of China,the original living environment for folk music culture are changing in Northwest Guizhou.A lot of traditional folk music cultures are changing qualitatively.Many traditional music forms which commonly existed some decades,dozens or even a few years ago are now close to withering away.Therefore it is an important and urgent subject to protect and develop the folk music culture in the northwestern Guizhou.
