Abstract

Expression of p185 and p16 in Uygur salivary malignant tumors (13 cases), pleomorphic adenomas (11 casses) and non tumor tissues (10 cases) was detected by immunohistochemistry (LSAB method) to study the alterted expression of p185 and p16 in Uygur patients with salivary tumors related to the biopathology and clinical significance. Conclusion can be reached as follows: 1. Detection of p185 and p16 alteration may offer some molecular index for the early diagnosis, clinical therapy of salivary malignant and benign tumors; 2. p185 overexpression may involve a malignant transformation of benign lesions.
