Effects of kaempferol on proliferation and apoptosis of human small cell lung cancer H446 cells in vitro

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of kaempferol on proliferation and apoptosis of human small cell lung cancer H446 cells line in vitro.Methods The MTT assay was used to detect the growth inhibition rates of H446 cells that were cultured by adding Kaempferol into medium in different concentrations.The cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry(FCM).The protein expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 were detected by Western Blot.Results The inhibitory effect of kaemperol on H446 cells were significantly increased with the drug concentrations(P0.01),and the effect was in a concentration-dependent manner in vitro.The cell apoptosis rates in different concentrations groups were significantly increased,as compared with those in control group.The detection results tested by Western Blot showed that 24 hours after the H446 cells were treated by kaempferol,the levels of bax were increased,however,the expression of bcl-2 was significantly decreased(P0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion Kaemperol can significantly inhibit the proliferation of H446 cells and can induce cell apoptosis.
