Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of Xuebijing injection on the systemic inflammatory response at early period after hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats. Methods 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(SOG),ischemia-reperfusion group(I/R) and Xuebijing group(XBJ),10 animals in each group.Xuebijing injection(5ml/kg/d) was administered to animals in XBJ group for three days before operation.Six hour after reperfusion, and the levels of TNF-α,IL-β,IL-6,IL-8 in serum and the levels of soluble ICAM-1 in plasma were measured. Results As compared with those in sham operation group, the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-β,IL-6,IL-8 and levels of soluble ICAM-1 in plasma were evidently increased in both ischemia-reperfusion group and XBJ group(XBJ),however, which in XBJ group were significantly lower than those in ischemia-reperfusion group(P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion Xuebijing injection can relieve the systemic inflammatory response in rats after hepatic ischemia-reperfusion.
