Abstract
ObjectiveTo compare the two endothelium cell markers, CD105 and CD34, in detecting the newborn blood vessels of gastric carcinoma and to analyze its significance. MethodsCD34 and CD105 of 55 fresh cases of gastric carcinoma were detected by using immunohistochemistry SABC and intratumoral microvessel density (IMD) were counted.ResultsNewborn blood vessels and normal blood vessels could be clearly distinguished in CD105 stained slides, but not in CD34 stained slides. IMD in CD34 stained slides was significantly higher than those in CD105 stained slides (t=12.08,P0.001). IMD of CD105 stained slides had clearly relationship with gastric carcinoma distance metastasis (t=2.58,P0.05). ConclusionCD105 is more suitable than CD34 in studying the newborn blood vessels of malignant tumor.
