Serotyping and analysis of drug sensitive testing for 60 strains of dysentery bacillus of Haidian district Beijing in 2004

Objective To investigate serotype and sensitive testing of Shigella in Haidian District,Beijing city.Methods 60 clinical isolated Shigella spp strains were collected and identified,the serotyping and the sensitive testing were performed.Results Of 60 strains, 37 strains (61.67% )were Shigella flexneri and 23 strains (38.33%) were Shigella sonnei,60 Shigella spp strains were all suscepted to Tobramycin,Cefazolin,Gentamicin,Cefotaxime,Ceftriaxone,Cefuroxime,Kanamycin,etc.Conclusion In Haidian district the major serotypes of Shigella spp were Shigella flexneri and Shigella sonnei,especially Shigella flexneri 4 and Shigella flexner X were major serotypes in Shigella flexneri.Appropriate drugs should be chosen in accordance with the result of drug sensitive testing.
