Abstract

A bacterial strain HS-N2 was isolated from a textile mill in Hubei Province. Results showed that HS-N2 was capable of denitrification under aerobic condition and facultative anaerobic condition.Nitrate of 10mmol/L could be efficiently removed by strain HS-N2 and the nitrogen removal rate was above 95% at 30℃ for 24h culture.Factors that affecting anaerobic denitrification by strain HS-N2 were determined. Results indicated that the most optimum temperature and pH value for aerobic denitrification were at 30℃ and 7.0 respectively.According to morphological characteristics, physiological biochemical test and sequence analysis of 16S rDNA,strain HS-N2 was identified as Salmonella Lignieres.
