Retrospective analysis of human papillomavirus genotypes infection in cervical cell samples among women in Nanchang region

Abstract

Objective To explore the prevalence and genotypes distribution situation of human papillomavirus(HPV) infection in cervical cell samples among women in Nanchang region in order to provide more scientific and reliable clinical data for the prevention and treatment of HPV infection and cervical cancer. Methods A total of 2659 women were retrospectively analyzed, who were in the outpatient department of gynecology of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2014 to June 2015, whose cervical cell samples were collected and 21 types of HPV genotypes were detected by using the nucleic acid amplification and reverse dot hybridization technology. The HPV infection rate and the HPV gene distribution were statistically analyzed. Results A total of 708 HPV positive samples were found in 2659 women(26.60%); HPV52 had the highest infection rate, accounting for 7.60%, following with HPV16,58,39,81,53; 20 age group had the highest infection rate, total positive rate accounting for 66.67%; of 708 positive patients, 74.85% were with single HPV genotype infection, 19.07% with double HPV genotype infection, 3.95% with triple HPV genotype infection, 0.99% with quadruple HPV genotype infection, and 1.13%with more than quadriad HPV genotype infection; the multiple infection rate of ≥65 age group was obviously higher than those of all other age groups(20.83%,P 0.05). Conclusion Women have relatively higher HPV infection rate in Nanchang region, and HPV subtypes, such as HPV52,16,58, are superior infection genotypes.
