Abstract
Nutrient solution culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of Se on seedling height, fresh weight of shoot, chlorophyll and N,P,K content in leaves of rice (Oryza sativa L.) seedling under Cd stress. The results indicated that seedling under Cd stress without Se supply showed chlorosis, decreased in seedling height and fresh weight of shoot, and increased in N,P,K content in leaves. The addition of Se to solution with Cd could increase fresh weight of shoot and seedling height, Se alleviated the Cd toxicity, increased chlorophyll and N content, decreased K content in leaves, Se increased P content in leaves which was affected by the interaction of Se and Cd.
