Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of finasteride on VEGF expression in the mice prostate. Method 50 mice prostatic specimens of normal and BPH were evaluated for VEGF expression by flowcytomctry(FCM). Results Expression of VEGF was inhibited by finasteride. The difference between model group{ group B)and medium dose group(group D) .maximum dose group(group E)was significant (P0.05 and P 0. 001 ,respectively). Conclusion Finasteride is effective in inhibiting the expression of VEGF in the hyperplastic prostate Tissue of mouae.
