Hu Shi's Planning of Higher Education

Hu Shi placed higher education on the strategic position for Chinese renaissance.He emphasized that we should rely mainly on our domestic universities while sending students abroad subsidiary.He advocated that we should concentrate energy on the development of successful universities first.He regarded science as the core of higher education and stressed the importance of academic independence and paid attention to the mutual relation of science and talents.To a certain extent,Hu Shi's planning played a foundational role in Chinese modern higher education.
