The Enlightenment of Confucian′s Benevolence for Moral Education

The objective and content of Chinese traditional moral education begins with the individual training and gradually expands to the knowledge of family,country and society,which is known as 'firstly to cultivate one's moral character,secondly to regulate one′s family,thirdly to govern one's nation and then to tranquilize the world′.Nevertheless,the national concept and collective spirit is emphasized in the moral education in the mainland at present,while the personal moral training is put in subordinate status.In contract with this model of moral education in the mainland,the moral education in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong starts by training the individual moral character and gradually moves on to the moral standard on the family,country and human.The comparative study on the similarities and differences of the objective and content of the moral education in the mainland and Hong Kong is very important in the respect of improving the objective and content of our moral education and according that with the spirit of the times and with our country′s actual situation.
