Abstract

Objective:To investigate the changes of the levels of S100βprotein and serum neuron specific enolase (NSE) in acute cerebral infarction patients and their clinical significance. Methods:The concentration of serum S100βprotein was detected by using double antibody sandwich ELISA;and the electrochemical process was used to determine the level of NSE in 33 cases with acute cere- bral infarction patients and 25 normal control. The changes of S100βand NSE were compared when patients in different pathogcnetic condition and infarction areas. The correlation analysis between S100βand NSE was also made by pearson ways. Results:Compared with control group, the level of serum S100βand NSE in patients with ACI increased significantly (all P0.05).The level of serum S100βand NSE increased with the neurofunction detection and infarction area. The level of serum S100βhas positive correlation with the level of NSE.Conclusions:The levels of the serum NSE and S100βprotein remarkably increase in the patients with ACI.The Serum S100βprotein and NSE can be used as the indexes in the diagnosis and prognosis of acute cerebral infarction patients, particularly appli- cable to patients with stroke who have no access to image checkup.
