Abstract

Objective:To determine the content of total flavones in the different kinds of buckwheat, different parts of buckwheat and buckwheat goods. Method:UV spectrophotometry for determination of total flavonoids was used. Using Na (NO 3 ) -Al (NO 3 ) 3 to detect the absorbance of samples and then count the total flavonoids. Results:The linear range of rutin was 0.003006~0.1503mg/mL (R 2 =0.9999) with average recovery of 97.9% (RSD 1.95% ). Conclusion:In different cultivated species of buckwheat, the concentration of total flavonoids of Fagopyrum tataricum(L.) Gaerth was 13.67~21.56mg/g,and that of F. esculentum Moench was 5.79~7.23mg/g. In different parts of buckwheat, the concentration of total flavonoids of leaves was the highest,up to 68.30mg/g. For buckwheat tea,the concentration of total flavonoids was 6.96~16.78mg/g,but they were lower than that of buckwheat seeds. This method was simple, accurate and reproducible for determination of total flavonoids of buckwheat and buckwheat goods.
