Clinical observation of Lixue Decoction in treatment of chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura

Objective To observe the clinical effects of Lixue Decoction (LXD) on chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (CITP). Methods All patients were divided into two groups by randomized method, 29 patients of the treatment group were treated with LDX, 20 patients of the control group were treated with Antaisu tablet (ATST). Platelet antibody, platelets in the peripheral blood and megkaryocytes in the bone marrow of two groups of patients were measured before and after treatment. Results The remission rate, markedly effective rate, total effective rate of the treatment and control groups were 13.8%,24.1%,86.2%,and 5%,10%,60% respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups ( P 0.01). The effect of the treatment group was obviously better than that of the control group. Even one month after stopping treatment ,platelets counts in the treatment group were still significantly higher than in the control group. Conclusion LXD is an effective drug in treating chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. It has a good prospective application value.
