Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of ligustrazine and IFN-γ on the levels of GATA-3,IL-4 and IL-5 in asthmatic rats. Methods Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into experimental groups(10 in each):normal group, control group, ligustrazine treatment group,IFN-γ treatment group and ligustrazine+IFN-γ treatment group. The asthmatic rat model was established by inhalation of ovalbulium repeatedly. The levels of IL-4 and IL-5 in BALF and the expression of GATA-3 in the lung were measured.Results(1) The number of total cells and EOS in the BALF were high in the control group, decreased in the treatment groups with significant difference among the ligustrazine+IFN-γ treatment group, the ligustrazine treatment group and the IFN-γ treatment group(P0.05),respectively.(2) The levels of IL-4 and IL-5 in the BALF were high in the control group, decreased in the normal group and the treatment groups with significant difference among the ligustrazine+IFN-γ treatment group, the ligustrazine treatment group and the IFN-γ treatment group(P0.05),respectively.(3) The thicknesses of WA/Pi and AS/Pi were large in the control group, decreased in the normal group and the treatment groups of the ligustrazine+IFN-γ treatment group, the ligustrazine treatment group and the IFN-γ treatment group(P 0.05),respectively.(4) The expression of GATA-3 was strong in airway and lung in the control group, weak in the ligustrazine treatment group and in the IFN-γ treatment group, and none in the ligustrazine+IFN-γ treatment group. Conclusion The ligustrazine+IFN-γ can decreased the expression of GATA-3 and the levels of IL-4 and IL-5,and inhibit inflammation in the airway and lung in asthmatic rats.
