Effect of ligustrazine on Th1/Th2 imbalance in asthmatic rats

Abstract

Objective To study the effects of ligustrazine on Th1/Th2 imbalance in asthmatic rats.Methods Fifty male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups(10 in each):normal control group(A),asthmatic model group(B),desamethasone group(C),ligustrazine group(D),combined therapy group(E).The levels of IL-4 and IFN-γ in BALF were measured by ELISA.Results (1)The IL-4 level was much higher(P0.01) and IFN-γ level much lower(P0.01)in BALF in group B than that in group A,The ratio of IL-4 and IFN-γ in BALF in group B was much higher than that in group A(P0.01).The IL-4 level and IL-4/IFN-γ ratio in BALF in ligustrazine treatment group were significantly lower than those in group B(P0.01,respectively).The IL-4/IFN-γ ratio in BALF in group D and E was significantly lower than that in group B(P0.01).Conclusion Ligustrazine can adjust Th1/Th2 imbalance in asthmatic rats,inhabit the airway inflammation.
