Abstract
Theoretical study on agglomeration and economic growth has made great progress in the framework of Spatial Economics, but empirical research on the relationship between the two is greatly scarce and of quite different conclusions.Based on Chinese provincial panel data models,a comprehensive empirical model is surveyed to study the relationship between agglomeration, industrial structure type and economic growth. The results show that agglomeration is indeed endogenous.Taking into endogeneity account,SGMM estimates indicate that location quotient is statistically not of significant role and not industrial diversification but specialization is conducive to economic growth.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
