On "The Cultural History of China" by Chen An-ren

main concern of this paper is to probe into Chen an-ren's concept of culture,research methodologies of cultural history and compiling mode of general history of China shown in The Cultural History of China,By analyzing the advantages and diadvantages,the writer of this paper has announced what is worth rethinking and using for reference to today's research of cultural history.The writer holds that a good genernal history of culture should reach the compatibility and harmony among concept,method,material and text.
