From Cultural Samples to Cultural Life: A Study on Community Tourism Development Model with the Classical Gardens of Suzhou as Resources

The historic part Suzhou proudly owns many classical gardens originally built during Ming and Qing dynasties as cultural samples.This paper starts with the district space where the gardens are located to reevaluate the value of these gardens as a kind of district space resource so as to explore into the possible ways to integrate garden culture with life of the residents.Based on this,the paper builds a community tourism development model with the classical gardens of Suzhou as resources characterized by: visitors and the local have common interest with the improvement of district environment;visitors and the local can communicate by using the gardens as a platform;Both visitors and the local can take a part in protecting the garden resources.
